Maintaining a healthy and effective digestive tract is critical for performance horses to get the nutrients and energy required to perform hard and recover fast from exercise. Only when a horse is healthy inside can it perform and look its best on the outside.
Training and competition, however, can challenge the equine digestive tract. Combine this with modern performance horse feeding programs, and you have what seems to be an impossible situation for trainers: A performance horse needs extra calories for energy.
